Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. It is a bit of a mystery as the West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar with its meaning. It is often believed that it's an island located to the west of Montreal However, it is actually a part of the city. West Island encompasses everything between the two cities that are Lachine as well as West. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. However, it's not the case. Brugel became an aspiring young lady within Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. Her early ambition was to become a dancer, however a rapid growth rate led to her growing beyond her dance partner. In an article in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6'1 inch. After I became too big for my male companions, I quit. Many ex-dancers switch to acting. For Brugel, it was the encouragement of her drama teacher in high school who pushed her to the path she required. She was recommended by a teacher to get a role for the school's annual show. The audition was successful and she was chosen as Anne of Green Gables. It led to an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Over the past 20 years, Brugel's roles on television and the big screen have been varied. The role of Rita from the award winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most memorable. Brugel was the only Canadian actor for Season 1 of the show and was not seen much.
